Seconded, Mando has some truly outstanding pieces there. Be sure to check out the archives.

Yeah but does a guy with only one image, in a triptych no less, qualify for a list? I think not.

No one has mentioned macdesktops.com, yet people have to know about this one with the obvious title. Did everyone just not bother b/c it's so well known, or do people have something against it?

It is widely known and also has been prominently mentioned in similar threads before. There are many nice images there, but the site has had a number of problems recently with server reliability.

In addition to the sites already mentioned I also like to pay a visit to Pixelhuset (http://www.pixelhuset.se/pixelhuset.html) I've spotted quite a few of the images there crop up on the monthly 'desktop' threads here at MacRumors.

I'll just add too to the nods of approval for Mandolux, not just because of the quality of work there but for the fact that the majority of his desktops are available at higher resolutions it can be tricky sometimes finding good images if you've got a large display... ;)

This morning I looked at a few new desktop images at caedes.net and found one called "Shores to Eternity." It looks pretty good on my G3 iMac right now. If you want to judge for yourself, here is the link to that picture ...
