Call of Duty Vs Battlefield 1942

Are these games basically the same?

I have the Battlefield 1942 set cause I really wanted one of this new era of WWII games. But was really not that impressed. I see there is a new CoD delux edition. Are they an Apple to Apple comparison or an Apple to Microsoft match?

They are not the same. IIRC Battlefield 1942 is slightly older, and CoD has better looking graphics. I play CoD regularly but in single player mode - it's my favorite Mac game at the moment.

I really wasn't hugely impressed with Battlefield 1942, but many say the online play is great and I can't comment on that.

They are certainly two different animals. Most people prefer one over the other depending on their preferred style of play.
