Obviously Apple is not selling all PPC for 1/2 price. But if they did, Apple has price matching. I purchased a refurbished iBook for $750. One week later they were selling the same iBook for $650. They refunded my credit card $100. All I had to do was call and request the refund.

My guess is that there will be some minor product tweak, like maybe a new BTO option for the G5s or something.

That said, the sticky page looks different that what I remember. Last time I saw it it was one column and didn't have the cool flag bubbles. Is that new or am I slow?

I doubt it is scheduled maintenance such as backups. Either technical problems or they are updating products in the refurb stores would be my guess. When is Apple's end-of-year? Could it be a stock audit?
