my kids each got one of these for christmas from their grandfather - and it does just what it says. Sits there, lights up, shakes his head and tail, and plays tinny mono music from his butt. They love it. I'll pass on one for me, though.

Sold these things at Toys R Us.

They flew off the shelves. Last week we even go iDog clothes for them, surprisingly, the clothes have the same color scheme as iPod socks.

Cute thing for teeny boppers.

Got one for my daughter, she likes it and it is kind of a novelty thing. She likes the little speaker. I did see that they just started selling black ones too...might look ok sitting on my desk next to my black iPod.:D

How different is this from the one Sega made?
The only difference I can really see between Hasbro's and Sega's is Hasbro's seems to run on 2 AAs, and Segas was 3 AAAs.

and Sega's seemed to be an iDog, and Hasbro's is an I-Dog. (probably to avoid Apple's legal crap).

But functionaly, and they about the same, anyone know?

Hmm, wonder if this will spawn an economy a la the iPod economy?
