New rule for 2006: No more Inquirer 'articles'.
What kind of tech journalist does not have their CD collection in digital format?

What I want to know is who screens these articles? That was a total waste.

Also, I am the only one getting a little burned out on all the iPod and iPod accessory articles that get posted here? It seems that about half of the links are to a review of an iPod case or some other trivial accessory and really doesn't add any value to this site. I think we should put a ban on iPod case reviews for a while.

Just skip the iPod articles if you don't want to read them.
[passes on reading the article in question]

What I don't get is, what was he expecting? Did he think his music would magically appear in iTunes and/or on his Nano??
And then he complains that he's disappointed that his music collection only takes up 5.15 GB. Is that iTunes' fault? Either he should buy more CDs or change the preferences so that iTunes imports the tracks at higher quality (taking up more space and thus making him feel like his music collection is more important! :D).
Hopefully the author of the article is just being silly and not serious about any of this.

Is MacBytes.com just grabbing for any article that is submitted to them?
This writer, his paper, and his opinions are less that news worthy. Maybe I should start writing articles about the novelty of Mac OS 10.1.5 so they can be posted here. Hell, I'd drop out of school and write offal like that if I could get paid for it.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure that was a positive article about the iPod.

What's with the title? I was hoping for a thorough iPod bashing that I could laugh at...whatever

I am amazed at this author's astounding discovery that acquiring iPods often leads to the purchase of accessories, and may even have the effect of leading people to buy other Apple products. He's really on to something here. Maybe he should coin a new term to describe this effect... Perhaps it could be called the "iPod Halo Effect". Yeah that is a great way to describe it. I'm so glad there are journalists out there who can read between the lines and tell us about what's really going on. Bravo!

Just goes to show that it all goes to hell when I go on holiday and don't submit any articles;)

No, MacBytes never post articles submitted to them from my site (http://jackwhispers.blogspot.com)
Also, all the iPod accessory reviews are pretty much coming from 1 site ... iPodGarage ... for some reason, Macbytes editors love the ad whoring, often wrong, narcissist that runs iPodGarage = Bill Palmer ...
I do know he used to advertise here, so that's one reason Macbytes editors like him.
The one I site I'd have to call out lately is macsupport.ca - this whole site is rehashed news with no new additions ... in fact, they are posting articles without creditting the source they copied and pasted from word for word in some cases.
BUT ... to defend MacBytes a bit ... iPod new IS TRULY 50% or more of the news that comes from Apple nowadays.

The entire tone of the article was lighthearted and meant to be amusing. He wasn't complaining about his music only taking up 5 gigs, only like so many things in the digital world, amazed that it took up so little space.
Isn't the art of irony being taught in schools anymore?

If you're saying that article contains irony, then my answer would be "apparently not" ...
