Where's the petition for better Spell check, a real download manager with open/save dialog and autofill?

is it really necessary to have a petition for feature requests for beta software. Wouldn't it be better to simply sent the feature requests to apple, you know, to someone that will actually read them and be able to do something about it (like ehre: http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?f50@190.n548aW5wfo0.576334@.3bbdb2b0 ). Do online petitions ever have an actual effect (honestly, i'm asking, i've never heard of a sucesssful one).
