Mavericks and the app store

I just bought my first Macbook and did all the updates and what not. When I head into the app store I see the Mavericks update and it gives me the option to update it instead of saying "installed". Is this normal?

What version of OS X are you running on your MacBook. Hit :apple: --> About This Mac and report back.

The physical Mavericks installer file never says installed as far as I know.

10.9.2 I was just curious if it was supposed to say installed.
