I've got a new iMac running Mountain Lion 10.8.5 with a Xerox Phaser 6700DN attached via USB and shared. Other Macs can send one print job. After that, there's an error "Unable to support AUTH_INFO_REQUIRED" until they remove and re-add the printer. Googling that literal phrase turned up nothing, which surprised me.
/etc/cup/printers.conf
I tried adding:
AuthInfoRequired none
But that didn't help :-(
