Hello,
I'm trying to capture some VHS-C tapes in as high-quality/raw format as possible. I'm using a VHS player and a Canopus ADVC-55 to do this, but have found Vidi more reliable than FCPX or LifeFlix in capturing the firewire DV stream (I've assumed there are no disadvantages in capturing in DV rather than mov when using FCPX to import and edit later).
My question is what settings do I use on Vidi:
1. Aspect ratio: 4:3 or Exact 4:3?
2. High Quality: on or off?
3. Single Field: on or off?
4. Deinterlace Fields: on or off?
5. What is Open Settings Drawer?
Many thanks in advance for any help you can give.
