View Full Version : Consolidating iTunes Libraries

Hi-

I have 2 macs each with their own iTunes libraries (different purchased music, etc). I'd like to put both of them onto my mini.

However, when I tried to sync my mini with my PM I got a message (paraphrased here) that the mini was associated with another library, and only gave me the option of completely replacing the old library (the one on my PB) with the new one (on my PM). As I paid for all of these songs, it would only make sense that there is some way to get both libraries onto my mini, right?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Beyond using 3rd party apps to manage the iPod and songs, you're stuck with how iTunes behaves.

You could just transfer the songs from PM <-> PB so that you have two copies of the same library ?

You have two options:

Put all the music in one library on one machine
Manage the songs on your iPod manually (http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tutorial/ip_gettingstarted_t3.html)
