Obviously, clamshell designs which mimic a laptop work well when lying in bed or on the sofa on your lap.

I'm wondering how softer cases such as the Logitech FabricSkin and UltraThin Folio perform when affect typing on a lap.

Are they rigid enough that prevent the iPad from bouncing around when you type? Somehow I envision these being a bit unweildy when placed on your lap given they're not anchored flat on a desk.

I tried the Ultrathin Folio and while it was very nice, I didn't like the hard plastic keys and back area of the keyboard against my iPad Air's screen when it was folded closed. I stepped up and put a little extra $$$ with it and exchanged it for the Fabricskin and I am in love with this case/cover! It isn't too bulky and it's actually fun to type with. Soft to the touch and soft against the screen so I'm a fan. Easy to use in most any position too.
