iMac now, or Intel version of PowerMac later?

As Steve said in his keynote, all models will be updated with the intels this calendar year, which would include the PowerMac. I've been long waiting for a desktop computer. I want to get a good one so that later something major won't come out (like the Intel chips) and I'll be left behind for a few more years.

So, would it be worth waiting for the PowerMac with Intel chips? or just buy the iMac now?

Note: I would like to get a lot of power, particularly for gaming, FCP, Motion, etc...
