Can anyone tell me why I can't update my OS 10.7.5 on my 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 MCBook Pro? It says I have software updates but due to errors i can't. Any possible ideas? or should I rush right into reinstalling my OS? I repaired permissions. Also can not update Epson printer even with a new I believe appropriate driver.

MacOS X 10.7.5 is the most recent version of that OS. MacOS X 10.8 is a paid update. OS X 10.9 Mavericks is a free update. You may be able to upgrade directly from 10.7.5 to Mavericks. This question is address by the Apple Support Communities.
