Hi guys
Few days ago i asked a question about reinstalling Mountain Lion and upgrading to Mavericks, and somebody suggested me to create Mavericks bootable USB and do a clean install, which im gonna do.

I asked what will happen with the apps that came with OS (iwork and ilife apps), will i be able to download them from appstore, and somebody told me that i will have to purchase them if i dont create a backup of "old" versions. Is this true?

Sorry, Apple newbie :)

Check that they're in your Purchased tab of the App Store, if they are you can re-download them after the clean install.

if you do the check and they are there after fresh rebuild app store may take some time to have these a download you won't see the buy again button on. I noticed on fresh rebuild some apps took a bit to list as ready for download again not paying. It clears out eventually, did in my case anyway.
