Visiting my local electronics store, the MP3 players on display couldn't even touch my 2G 20GB iPod for ease of use and coolness. I think Apple's got a 5 year head-start, plus 30+ million iPods this year alone would be my guess.

I wonder what Sim Wong Hoo must be thinking when he heard the news of 14M iPods sold? Here's to the Crazy Ones http://forums.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35452 (http://www.uriah.com/apple-qt/movies/think-different.mov)

Guess the mystery big buyer hooked in to Forbes got all the shares he wanted. They have now reversed the last two days of talking AAPL down, and are suddenly talking AAPL up!

They have no shame at all, and no respect for their readership. I am sure there is a special level in hell reserved for analysts, but as they say, you can't be an Anal-yst if you don't talk out of your ass.

Living in a small community we've only got 2 electronics stores. One of them has a display just for iPods right at the front of the store with no other MP3 players in site (the rest are along the back wall with the cell phones & pdas).

The other is the opposite with the iPods hidden away, I should also mention the 2nd has their own line of mp3 players (cheap generic ones with their logo on them).
