13" MBA 2013 slow to wake up

Hi all,

First post on this forum. I just recently got a brand new MBA 2013 13" running on Mavericks 10.9.2. When I rewake the computer from sleep sometimes, it shows a blank screen with the pointer still showing & movable, but it takes a good 10 seconds or so for the login page to come up.

I know this is a minor issue, but it is somewhat bothersome for a new laptop & first time macbook . I searched forums and couldn't find anything on this.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: If this is better in the MBA forum, please let me know. Not familiar with categorization yet.

Update: sometimes the lock screen (instead of the black screen) shows but is unresponsive until after a few seconds.

Upon further research, I think it may have to do one of the Energy Saver Preferences -> disabling the Power Nap setting.

No solutions?
