I've been having a few problems with my iMac recently and I'm wondering if anyone might know what's causing it. It is possible they are unrelated.

1) Distortion on space bar preview in finder.
This only started happening recently, but sometimes when press spacebar in finder to preview an image, it looks like the attachment.

2) Chrome browser tabs crashing regularly. This has been going on for a long time. It happened before I upgraded to Mavericks and continues to happen. Usually I will have to refresh the page 3-5 times and its good to go from there.

My thinking. Bad RAM or bad video card. I've run memtest on the RAM in the past and it got the thumbs up, but I still suspect something could be wrong there. I'm not aware of any memtest equivalent for the video card?

iMac specs:
27" Mid 2011
3.4GHZ i7
16GB RAM (from OWC)
AMD RAdeon HD 6970M 1GB
OSX 10.9.2

Any suggestions or pointers in the right direction are much appreciated. Thanks!
