SimpleTech USB Drive HELP!

I just purchased a SimpleTech USB Simple Drive, because I was told that it would work for Mac. But when I plug it in my computer wont recognize it? Any suggestions?! I am running OSX 10.3.9.. Please help. Thankyou.

When you plug it in, and then open Disk Utility, does the USB drive show up in the list of drives in Disk Utility?

Where are you plugging it in?

I am plugging it into my USB drive on the side of my powerbook... no it is not showing up. I also just noticed that once I unplug it from the USB, that drive does not work, until I restart, for example if I plug my mouse in, it will not work.
