"Unfortunately it has become clear to me in recent days that the false allegations made against me have become a distraction to the important work of the House Republican Conference and the important work that remains ahead for the House Administration Committee," Ney said in a written statement.
Sounds like Blubbering Duke's denials... shortly before he plead guilty to the crimes he'd steadfastly denied.
I wouldn't get near Ney right now... you never know, he might be wearing a wire!

Though i have no idea I wonder if he is another draft dodging republican, seems the republicans love the draft dodger and must be the 1st thing one needs to become a high ranking republican these days. Bush,Cheney,Hastert,Libby,Rowe,Delay,Lott, its a long list. High Character? or something else?

According to this (http://ney.house.gov/Biography.aspx), he's a career politician, but he did teach in Iran in his youth. No Vietnam info, but he does (or did) serve on the Ohio State Council on Vietnam Veterans.
His replacement... I mean, opponent in the next election is a vet:

At least Ney is better than the guy he replaced who put his mistress on the government payroll.
