Hi,

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, it's not strictly hardware related as it'll be more down to how the OS and drivers work.

My home network is currently completely wireless due to the location of my cable modem. I have a Windows 8.1 machine and an iMac running Mavericks and a bunch of other Apple devices (MBA, MBP, few iPhones etc).

As my windows machine and imac are next to each other, I was wondering if it would be possible to connect these together via ethernet (as I frequently copy files between them) and bridge the two network adapters on my iMac.

My question really is, if this even works, both machines will be able to see each other both via wifi (via my router) and view my ethernet connection, so what happens?

Cheers

Rich

You can initiate/force an ethernet connection by using IP address of your ethernet card. It should work without a hitch.
