Help! iPhoto refusing to delete pictures

There are 13 pictures stuck in iPhoto's trash that will not delete when I choose empty trash! I can put more pictures in and then emtpty the trash and the new ones are gone but the 13 are still there. This first started happening when I upgraded to Tiger and iLife '05.

It has probably only ever happened to me but, any ideas?
