Apple doesn't need to buy a private island that is what the Channel Islands, well not private islands but they are a tax haven and are located just south of the UK in the English Channel before you get to France. The Brits who live there have similar conditions to people living in Monaco in the south of France. They don't have to pay tax or income tax if they are registered as living in the Channel Islands. Some brits who have very high incomes and who don't want to pay tax in the UK have their residense on the island of Gurnsey. Apparently it costs the English government 200 million pounds a year in 'lost' tax revenue
