Now, if someone could just come up with a way that you could do this on your own web server, that would be something! Make your own web server into a .Mac !!!

Even better would be Apple shipping the required .Mac components on their computers (just like Apache and PHP). People who want to (and can) host their websites at home could do it. Broadband users only, of course (if your ISP allows it).

This is great!

Although it's a shame it only works on Tiger.
Still tied to .Ma$ to sync (to-from) Panther (like my iBook).

How did you like it grapes911?

It sucks. I can't really get it to work right. I hope they continue development and release a new version soon. It's a great idea, but they are very far away from creating a useful app.

I tried it between 2 iMacs.
I couldn't get it t work either.
Slave. Master. Not recognised...
I do hope they get it right someday. .Mac shouldn't be so damn expensive.

Actually with what you're given with .Mac you get a lot more than a plain 'ol webhost. Though I would like it to be compatible with any webhost.

That's exactly what we're discussing here, syncing.
