I've recently switched to OS X and I want to back up all my work before I switch (again) to Jaguar. Aside from backing up all my work on cd, is it worth me investing in an external HD.
I've looked at the 80gb Lacie and the Iomega External HD (80gb). Which one is the best (and most reliable) of the two and will my work be safe ?
Help !

Well, If I were you I would buy an external FW enclosure and a hard drive separately.

It would not only be cheaper, but you could upgrade the Hard Drive later on or put a CD drive in there.

Thanks for the links G4Scott and Shrek. Something happen to Shrek's Avitar. It looks similar to the team that's going to get rolled by the Raiders. Doh!

Also the ADS enclose sure isn't cheap.

Well I dont reccomend any specifically, however I have seen them for about $50.

Add a bare 80 gb HD for ~about 80-100 and it should be your best bet.

I've had a Maxtor 80GB firewire drive for about 8 months now, with nary a single problem. Its on 24/7 too.
