Whether I sell really depends on what I can get for this:
- Latest revision 12", 1.33 Ghz G4, 1.5 GB RAM (maxed), 40 GB hard drive.
- Some very minimal marking on the top of the case, and a little bit more on the bottom.
- 2 slightly lighter spots on the LCD, only visible on a white background, that have been there since I bought it (in August, btw, so it's got applecare for 8 more months).
- Perfect functioning in every way
- original packaging and all accessories
- battery that still holds a complete charge (coconut battery says 98% of original, but that's what it said the day I bought it too - it's not an exact reading).

What can I get for it? Anyone interested?

Btw, the only reason i'm selling is because this doesn't have DVI and I want to be able to use my 20" ACD that has sat idlely since I sold my powermac.

edit: oh, trades for a powerbook with DVI would also be considered, but I'm not interested in any other trades. Thanks!

yes, certainly. Can't do it this minute, but I will in the next day. I'm also calling applecare tomorrow to see if they will replace the screen (i.e. give me one without the 2 uneven backlit spots) and will let you know what they say about that.

Ok, here are 2 pics of the "spots" (uneven backlighting) on the screen. The background is set to apple's "solid light gray" because they are most visible on light backgrounds and that was the lightest i could find. I don't want to make too much of these because they're really not that bad; I just like to be honest upfront so no one is upset later.

Also - there is considerable interest in this, for which I thank you all. :) All PMs have been replied to.

Re: price. I'm not sure what to ask for it. Here's my thinking:

The lowest price I can find is amazon - $999 with a $100 mail-in rebate, no tax, no shipping, so $900.

Mine has 4-5 months less on the warranty, very slight wear on top, and some more scratching on the bottom. Plus the "spots" which you can see here, and which will hopefully be fixed by applecare (and which a new one might very well have anyway - it's pretty normal). So knock off... $100 for the wear?

But it also has 1 GB extra RAM, from crucial, which is currently $197 before tax or shipping. And the RAM is pretty much worth that price to me (especially if I end up ordering a refurb powerbook 12" combo as a replacement because they use the same RAM and I could just stick it in there). So adding ~$190... we get...

$990. Or, $800 without the RAM. Heck, I'll even make it $800 with 768 RAM (I'll harvest the 256 from the 12" powerbook).

Or make me an offer. Or make me a *trade* offer for a powerbook (12" or 15", over 1 Ghz please) and I'll cover the difference in cash if need be. Let me know what you think! thanks all! :)

Hey,
I am just new on here, but I am in desparate need for a Mac, I just started a new job, and everything seems to be Mac rather than PC, so I have been watching the forums....
How much to ship to Toronto, Canada?
Thanks

seems like shipping to Canada would be about $40, based on USPS' postage calculator.

Here are more pictures of the ibook... you can't see much, but then, there isn't much to see. It's basically just a slightly used ibook. Let me know if there are any questions...

Just an FYI, you are likely to be charged at least 15% tax + possible duty. A friend of mine was charged $290 for his iBook that was shipped from the US.

Yeah, for that $800 USD purchase, total should be $1055 CDN including taxes (15.025%) + shipping + brokerage fees if you import the iBook in Canada.
