Properly moving iTunes Library from Windows to OS X

I have just copies my entire iTunes Library from Windows to a newly created folder on my iPod (4g, 40 g). Can someone explain where and how to properly import library/playlists into OS X?

I also want to import my photos into iPhoto.

Here are the Apple instructions for moving your iTunes library and photos onto the Mac. You could, of course, skip the iPod part and use a network or whatever to import stuff, but al the useful parts like where to find files will still apply.
