I need a 2.5" hd enclosure that will work with my clamshell's hd.

I don't care what the heck it looks like or if it's beat up. It needs to be Firewire though. It can have USB 2.0 AND Firewire, but it HAS to have FW.

The cheaper the better!

I can pay with PayPal or maybe offer a trade.

Thanks.

I have in my hands an OWC 2.5" carrier card (it lacks the clear case.. dont ask!).

Firewire 400 and USB 2.0 & cables, make sure you buy one that has the oxford chipset (which this is of course)... pictures if you need.

$20 and a couple for shipping?

Carrier Card? O_o....could you perhaps take a picture or give me a link to the site about it.

I did read to buy an oxford chipset one...do you know why that is?

The Oxford chipset is just the defacto standard. Anything else is taking a chance...

here is a link to the product:

Ours is just the internal PC card which attaches to the drive (ie no casing). Works great, but not great for throwing in a briefcase.

not sure how they will look (had to shrink them).

Haha, ok, I've gotta know why the clear case is missing....share the story. :D

not as tough as you might think when its -55F. :) Not sure OWC will replace the plastic pieces....

haha, ok, well I just have to decide if I'm going to take this from you or just buy Tiger on CDs. I'll PM you soon.

we purchased another one, so this is just a backup card...

always useful if you have a 2.5" drive and need data off of it, or just a quick place to check a 2.5" drive.

Another MR member contacted me with regards to this USB / Firewire carrier card. Are you still interested? If not, it will go to him.

Best of luck on your project.

You can go ahead and let him take it. I bought Tiger on CD media so I'll see if that works before trying the "take out the HD method".

Thanks though, I appreciate it!
