Hi all,
I´ve been reading this forum for quite a time but now is the day for me to post my first thread...unfortunately. What happened:
Out of the blue iTunes will not open. Says "Not enough memory to run program". But I didn`t change anything... I got 756 MB RAM, so thats not the thing. The RAM is still there as shown in the System Profiler. I`m also able to run lots of different applications in the same time....but not one single iTunes...I tried quite a bit, repaired the HD with DiskUtility, lots of restarts, emptied the iTunes Library and finally reinstalled iTunes 6.0.2.
Nothing happened.:(
I´m on Mac OS 10.4.4.
Is there anybody out there who had the same problem ?
Please help:o
cheers,

How much free HD space have you got?
Will iTunes start if you log in as another user on your Mac (make one if you have to)?

I had 8 GB free disk space of an 80 GB Volume. After emptying the iTunes Library I had 34 GB free. Maybe thats not the problem.
I`ll try the different user thing...thanks a lot.

yes, you`re right. After copying it to an external firewire drive, of course.
I just wanted to make sure, that it`s got nothing to do with the mp3 files.
Just trying to sort out the problem.

Ok... lets try something else...
Have you installed any iTunes plug-ins or scripts, in /Library/iTunes/ or ~/Library/iTunes/?
Have you installed any special codecs or whatever for QuickTime?
And even more important: Does your QuickTime Player start and play normally...?

Mitthrawnuruodo YOU ARE MY HERO !!!!!
I installed a dirty little bastard of a quicktime codec called "Flip4Mac" to run wmv-files in the quicktime-player. After uninstalling it averything was fine...and I nearly initalized my harddisk because DiscGenius found some bad blocks and stuff...phew.
How did you come across quicktime ?
You are awesome. Thanks a lot !

A bit worried about those bad blocks, but glad it works again... :)
How did you come across quicktime ?
iTunes relies heavily on QuickTime, so that was the obvious next step... ;)
