As a photog, I commend Apple for doing this. I sure would have liked to see Aperture stronger from the getgo, but I like their response now and look forward to using their product in the future.

Yes - I agree.
I just hope that the PDN readers participate in sufficient numbers to make the exercise effective.

That's a strong and positive move on Apple's part... so probably it is safe to say that Aperture is, in effect, a beta release.
