iBook 500 MHz
192 MB RAM, 10 GB HD, CD-ROM, Airport Card, OS X Jaguar (10.2.x)

Click here for Apple base specifications. (http://manuals.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Manuals/specs/ibook/L13616B_EN.pdf)

Accessories include Netgear wireless access point (802.11b), and High Sierra padded computer backpack. Excellent condition, no dead pixels, I take care of my computers. Photos available upon request.

The iBook will be sold with a clean, formatted hard drive with a fresh installation of OS X Jaguar. The sale includes all of the original system disks and Jaguar in its original box. That is the only software included.

Selling because I'm starting college on Jan. 25th, and the school IT dept. bans Macs from the network, claiming they'll expel me if I try to connect, due to "security vulnerabilities".

I'm willing to negotiate on price, but I do have to meet at least half the cost of a PC laptop. I'll also consider trades/purchase of late-model PC laptops (Dell, HP, Compaq, or Toshiba) with Windows XP Pro.

If you're interested, contact me by e-mail (rjsmith1120@mac.com) or AIM (rjsweb1120).

Thanks.

What school is this?
It better not be one supported by my tax dollars

I'm now selling the iBook by itself with the extra RAM and Airport card for $750.00. UPS ground shipping included (buyer pays the difference if you want it faster). I'll throw in my Targus laptop bag as well (I'm keeping the backpack).

Hey man,

I feel bad for ya having to sell the iBook. As far the college IT department insisting that I can't use a Mac because of "security problems", I would make them kiss my rear. I would never allow an IT department to make me use a PC. Also, they wouldn't be able to prove the security problem to me...I am after all a Mac technician.....they would have to have get me up pretty early in the morning to even consider believing that......and I don't think they could get that Lucky! I am a Mac user and one for life! Long live the Mac and Down with the PC!
