Quicktime 7 Export>MPEG2, Where is it?

No, the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component does not contain an MPEG-2 encoder, therefore encoding or creating MPEG-2 content is not supported. The component is only a decoder, enabling playback of MPEG-2 content.
When they say that you can export, they mean that you can transcode MPEG2 files into other formats.
I don't think Apple do an MPEG2 export component.

The OP wans't talking about the Playback componant he was talking about the QT MPEG2 codec that was and is still available and has been working on my computer for nearly 3 years. The playback component is a different unit, see the second pic.
You used to have to pay for it separately from QT pro, which may have changed TBH, but we purchased 40 licenses last summer.
DVDsp will transcode internally and the codec comes as part of the FC Studio pack I believe.
Transcoding is exporting.

I have done some thorough research and those files only come with Final Cut Pro 4. I have been unable to buy a copy of Final Cut Pro 4 anywhere. I am currently using Final Cut Studio 2 which costs me over $900. I really want to convert directly to MPEG2 without having to wait over 19 hours to convert a 45 minute video.
I hate to ask this but could you please email me the following files:-
QTMPEGExport.component
QuicktimeMPEG.component
QuicktimeMPEG2.component
I cannot find them anywhere and I'm sure it's not illegal to send someone who owns the majority of apple software on original (including Shake etc) from 2005 onwards.
If you can email them to me then do so

Compressor estimated the compression time to just over 19 hours for a 45 minute High Definition video. Whilst I'm sure this mpeg 2 converter which is exported directly from final cut will not take anywhere near as long. I still will have to use Compressor for the audio though.

OK...Pardon me for being a bit confused...Are you saying the Final Cut Studio 2 does NOT have what it needs to export a .mpg (MPEG-2) file? If that's the case, then I would love to get my hands on that export component...I'm about four hours away from purchasing FCS2, and exporting .mpg files is essential (some work I do requires .mpg files for playback on specialized hardware).
