Photos missing in photo album & calendar (but in library)

Not sure what's going on here!

Went to try and make a photo album with iPhoto 6 but none of my photos appear in the top bar to drag into the book! Same thing is happening in calendar - anyone know what's going on or is it a bug?

Are you doing this from the library?
I might be wrong, but I think you might need to create an album first, and try it from there.
