Pleo (http://news.com.com/1606-2_3-6036803.html?part=rss&tag=6036803&subj=news) has been developed to be as life like as possible. Watch the video to see it's "as life like as possible" movements.

Yeah I know there's been a string of such robotic type virtual pets over the years, but I just got have me a Pleo :D

Get me one too. Although it looks a bit hard to get your finger back after you offer it to chew on.

$200 :(

Too much for me; I'd rather spend it on an iPod Nano. :o :p

Watching the video, I was expecting it be like $2000+!

Its a bargain compared to Sony's (discontinued) Aibo!

I can see now that I'm going t be out $200 "late Q3"... thank god these things don't have pack behavior, or else, I'd be out $1000 - a herd would be cool. ;)

There's a longer video here:
http://www.demo.com/demonstrators/demo2006/63039.html

It shows him being woken up, exploring etc.

Very neat, but there are a few things that I don't like. For example he moves very slowly and occasionally jerks a lot. Also there's no word on wether they'll release upgrades for the software like Aibo (although they are apparently going to release behaviour packs). I'll wait for the Pleo 2 :)

Great video. All that happens is the play and pause button flicker and nothing happens.

It is a great video, it's longer, better quality and shows off different features!
Works fine for me on both Mac and PC. Must be your computers/connections. Don't press any of the buttons, just load the page and wait.

If it still doesn't work for you don't moan back in this thread, there's nothing we can do.

It must be my computer and connection too, because the same thing happens to me. Try this link (www.stupidcrap.com/videos/uranidiot.avi) instead.
