Hi there,

Excuse me if this is a really popular question, but i can't seem to find the answer.

How do you delete doublers of songs from iTunes in one go ?

I have about 40 tracks that are on there twice maybe from backups etc ?

Is there a way i can delete them without manually looking them up and deleting ?

Thanks in advance,

Rich.

Edit > Show duplicate songs

You'll still have to highlight and delete, but it's better than nothing.

Edit > Show duplicate songs

That true, but you have to understand that both copies of the song will be shown. don't delete both.

also you may want to check that you delete the right copy of the song, if you converted a selection to AAC from mp3 for example both copies will be shown. you may in that case want to delete the mp3 copy. right click>show info - kind.

And watch out: Some are not duplicates. iTunes shows you songs by the same artist with the same title. You may have a studio version and a life version of the same song, and want to keep them both. You may have bought one CD of some artist and a "Best of" CD, and one or two songs may be on both - if you delete one copy that CD will be incomplete.

Good point, a mistake I made once or twice before:p. But now all my music is very organised and I don't download from the web anymore (expect from iTunes) i haven't really had that problem for sometime.
