iPod won't mount?

for some reason, my iPod will not mount. I ran disk utility and it see's it but won't mount it. I tried reintalling the iPod software with iPod updater and still nothing. Is there anything I can do to try and mount this guy. I've even reboot the iPod and nothing.

disk utility does recognize. unfortunately i had to wipe it and restore to default settings and that worked. strange.

might need to get her a SPANKIN' new video iPod with some choice instructional video's pre-installed. I hear Vivid is a great resource!. ;-)
