i posted another thread, but i'd like the mods to delete that one because i am now looking for only a mac mini (unless you have something very similar in value that is also similar in specs)
okay, i have the ibook in my signature, i am looking to trade it for a stock mac mini possibly with a upgraded HD. i would like to get 300 in cash with the mac mini, i only want the mini with the power adapter, no keyboard or anything, as i found a great gateway HD tv for it.
i would like the money to be sent with paypal or i will take a bank draft or a direct bank transfer. please do 1-2 day shipping on the bank draft or certified money order.
please post your offers, i am currently working out a deal that might fall through.
thanks

I know that you're looking for a Mac Mini, but I have an older G4 tower thats been extensively upgraded, and all it needs is a mobo and cpu combo to be TOP NOTCH. I would add cash of course to even it out.
Here are the specs:
PCI Graphics PowerMac G4 Motherboard
350Mhz Processor
1x512MB stick of RAM (registers as 256 on a PCI motherboard but on an AGP mobo would recognize as 512)
2x256MB of RAM
1x128MB of RAM (combined total of 896MB of RAM, would be over a gig of RAM with the new mobo)
120GB 7200RPM 8MB cache hard drive
Brand New Apple Combo Drive
Loaded with OS X Tiger 10.4.4 and surprisingly runs rather speedy. I think it's the large amount of RAM that Tiger likes . This has basically been a hobby project and I also have a 466MHz AGP G4 Proc that I could throw in that i was going to use but havent gotten around to.

hey i will only accept trades for computers that are complete, this leads me to believe that this isn't a fully working tower, or is it, you would have to add quite a bit of cash, like 450-500$ because this is only 350mhz.. so does anyone have a stock mac mini that they want to trade for my ibook, i really only want like 320US in the trade with the mini. this is fair i think for both sides.

This is a 100% fully working (very well working) machine. I just say that the only thing it could use is a Sawtooth or higher mobo to really make it a top of the line. Also, just because of the speed of the processor is low, doesnt mean it doesnt perform well. It performs very nicely. Also, with the exception of the processor, everything is better about this than a mac mini (especially the 7200RPM 8MB cache Hard drive, RAM, etc) and it's easily expandible with the PCI slots (which the mac mini doensnt have)

It sounds high. I could go 350 cash and this if you payed for shipping on both items. One of the reasons being that the new intel ibooks are coming out in late march early april, and are msot likely going to be in the 800-900 starter range.

Okay just to be sure. I would include the unit itself, a power cord, and the 466Mhz Upgrade AGP Processor.
You would include the ibook, all accessories (including VGA adapter), power adapter, ice station, and sport folio II? Also, is the iBook in very good condition?
Then how would we be working out the shipping deal, you paypal me the money for the required shipping to canada? Ive never shipped there before So I dont know.

no you give me 350US and we pay for the shipping for each unit. that is fair.

Shipping a full tower case to canada would be quite expensive I believe. I am interested in this deal, but I'm afraid shipping may kill the deal. Do you have any idea the cost to ship a tower to Canada would be? I may have to lower the amount of cash to paypal if its too high.
Also, what is your City and zip so i can get an estimate.

Uh, the title is "upgraded 12" ibook for stock mac mini" so I guess that means is has a good chance of being a 12" :p

well, i am working out a deal, that involves a computer with 3 times the proc speed as yours and we are talking similar cash, so i really don't think i can do this as of now, but if all deals fall through you will be my last resort and i will contact you...your machine is only worth like 200-250 max. mine is worth more like 750-800.
thanks though
