Custom order in Retail Stores

Is it possible to do a CTO order in an Apple store, maybe upgradiing the HD and RAM?

From what I understand, you can place a CTO order at the Apple Store just like you do online. I think they even walk you through on the web site, just like you were doing it yourself.

If you mean can the retail store configure an "off the shelf" model for you, I think they can install RAM, but that's about it.
