To play/partake in:

CRICKET!!!!
Skiing
Golf
Pool (is it a sport? it involves a ball and drinking so it should be)

To watch:

Cricket (at the game, on TV it's only OK)
Skiing
Hockey (not the one on ice)
Rugby (not league)
Hockey (this time it's the one on ice)
Aussie Rules (at the game, it sucks on TV - you can't see any of the back play going on)

Track and field - sprinting. Good sports shouldn't take more than eleven seconds.

ice hockey all the way. Preferably the new NHL rules (although it would be nice if the refs didn't call every little thing, now). I like how there's no two-line pass rule anymore, it really speeds everything up,

I'll watch anything, except for american football.

As for playing: swimming, volleyball, skiing (though I haven't been for ages), mini-golf and ten pin bowling :o

Soccer...or association football.

There's a reason they call it "The Beautiful Game."

I enjoy playing most anything, but find soccer and baseball to be the most fun (football is fun, but it's hard to really get a good game going).

I will watch just about anything. The only sport I have found painful is lawn bowling. I do try to avoid F1 and Indy-car (the whine is irritating). But, I am pretty sure I have watched almost every sport that is broadcast. Oh, and I don't consider poker to be a sport. My favorite to watch on TV is football (american rules). So far my favorite at the game is baseball, but I haven't been to a pro/top tier college hockey game (only mid/low tier college).

I watch American football and international rugby union regularly, I'll try most of the Olympics (summer and winter) games, particularly athletics if there's nothing on. I like good live baseball and live ice hockey (both kinda tough in the UK) but not TV

I'm not a great fan of soccer (the boring game so far as I'm concerned) or televised golf.

So far as playing, I used to love curling until I left Scotland. I play squash occasionally but usually I just end up in the gym as far as fitness goes. I've tried playing touch football (NFL style) but since it's a guys' league; it can get a little painful when you're a 5'3" girlie!

 You freak.

Anyways, I like most sports. Heck, there are few that I actually dislike (NASCAR isn't a sport). I'm rather indifferent towards basketball though. I need to get back to playing soccer...

"He's football crazy, He's football mad. The football it has taken away the little bit of sense he had."

That's proper Association Football, mind you – not that odd American version. And my interest extends to watching it only – I'm a season ticket holder at Hull City so that's where I'm usually to be found on a Saturday afternoon.

I've only ever played one competitive game of football, and that was in the school team when I was 11 – and even then, I was only picked because we were a small school and there were barely enough boys in our year to make up a starting eleven. I actually managed to score the winning goal... unfortunately I managed to put it past my own keeper. :o

Classical (nude) wrestling?

For me though, it's got to be basketball. Play and watch. Although the once-every-four-years things (olympics, world cup) have a magic for me.

I dunno Gary, I reckon cricket would be your thing. Now, I'm a straight guy but I think the prospect of getting down to the member's end and facing a couple of bouncers might be right up your alley. Give it time and you'll be hooked, counting down the days until you get the bat in hand and give those balls a good whalloping once again. :D ;)

Hope you're not offended, I reckon you know I'm just taking the piss. Why do you think the word "innuendo" is so suspect??

My Favorite Sports

1) Soccer- I've played it since I was 5 and I'm good
2) Skiing- Simpy put it is just soo fun
3) Lacrosse- So much action and "physicalness" involved
4) Swimming -nice on a hot day
5) Golf- a little boring, no action

I love to play soccer but I hate watching it. Skiing is fun because you can just go so fast and there are amazing sights to see. Lacrosse is so fun to play, and IMO the best sport to watch. Baseball is too slow for me and basketball to urban and I am really bad at it.

Would you consider SCUBA a sport? If so, I like that.

Also enjoy participating in:
Snow-skiing (haven't been since the accident, though)
Rollerblading
Running
Mini-golf

Took a speed-skating course, but could never get the turns down. I'd keep tripping on the long blades.

Watching:
College American Football (live)
Hockey (live)

If I had to pick a favourite to play it'd be hockey. I really liked playing high school basketball and volleyball too though. Lacrosse and tennis are both very enjoyable as well, but I haven't played them lately because of wrist problems which arose from playing lacrosse.

To watch, all sports can be boring to watch at certain times. Nothing beats the first two rounds of the NHL playoffs. I also look forward to watching Wimbledon every year in the summer. I'll watch some of the World Cup this year, but aside from that the major sports are all pretty boring to me.
