A relative of mine has decided to get a webcam as he could only see me on it, i searched high and low and all i could find was the macally ice cam, as he didn't really want to spend over £25, and the isight goes well beyond that also, i found the ibot but this is discontinued, btw he on a g3 imac using ichat usbcam to see me as its 400MHz, and the macally ice i heard is crap also he's ran out of usb ports so to use this camera he'd have to buy a hub, so preferably firewire, well any ideas guys ?

I also struggled to find a non iSight cam, and came up with the same thing.

The Icecam....meh.

BUT, one user reported getting the Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 to work with Tiger.

I didn't think it would work with Tiger, but he said it did with no effort, so that's another option.

I ended up shelling out the $ for the iSight.

But, I may have gone for the cheaper Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 had I known it worked with Tiger.

I recommend using the macam USB web cam drivers for OS X (http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/). The drivers work great with my Logitech Quickcam Express on my iBook G4 running Tiger.
