Intel Core Duo and Intel Core Solo.

What is the difference between the Intel Core Duo and Intel Core Solo?
I'm not very good at this things about computers, and I searched in google and I just don't get it.
I suppose the Duo is better:D . But why?

The Core Duo is dual-core. Basically, it's like having two processors. The Core Solo isn't.

A CoreSolo CPU is a CoreDuo with one of the cores turned off (normally because one of the two cores failed verification). So a CoreDuo is roughly speaking two CoreSolos sharing a single cache and FSB.

You still have to be sure t keep in mind that if you have a core duo at 2.0 Ghz, your computer is not running at 4 Ghz still. In may situations your system will be running at somewhere between 2 and 4Ghz because not all applications will be able to take advantage of both cores. In most cases things like OS X Tiger will take advantage of both, and a few running applications will and a few won't... it is to be expected.
