hey guys... i changed my powerbooks date to the year 2006 and when i launched safari i got an error that it had expired in june 2003... also, when surfing apple.com from safari, not only do you get a safari icon in the top left hand corner, but the first product box under the powerbooks changes from safari to airport extreme... i just thought that was interesting, sorry if its been posted already ninety-seven times...

If you read the beta's documentation, you'll notice that it says that. iSync's beta was set to expire in February. If Apple follows the same timeline, I would expect Safari 1.0 to come out around mid May.

the product change isnt due to your date changing. a lot of time they alternate.

the hurting is perhaps the most depressing album/cd ever. if you're listening to it a lot, do yourself a favor and find good therapist. i can help you find one, if need be.
great cd, though. i listened to it a lot when i was in a deep, dark hole of my own.

p.s., if you don't know what i am referring to, i'm not talking to you.

As I wrote in the original post, if you don't understand, I'm not talking to you. The poster I am addressing (in this thread) knows the reference I am making.
Interesting tone you chose with a guy you thought was depressed.

Hey,
I just loaded OS X (goodbye os 9) for the first time last night and was thinking of downloading Safari. I've heard some horror stories in these threads about deleted items and system failures. How is the beta now? Is it more stable or should I wait until the final realease. I'm not really interested in losing any data or going through any headaches right now.

Only a select # of people had that deleting user folder issue, which has since been resolved. If you download Safari from Apple.com it will be the latest version which is great.

Hey. At the risk of sending this thread off the tracks, anyone know what Roland Orzabal is doing these days? The dude is way too talented to sit still....

He's the better half of the band Tears For Fears. (Sorry, all, I've managed to derail this thread...)

Downloaded Safari and haven't had a glitch yet. Pretty damn smooth and fast browser. I'm on a G3 400 with X and this thing is great. Thanks Kid Red.

No prb, it's not a bad start, huh? Imagine this time next year how it will be, IE will be a thing of the past.

Safari should update itself with nightlies the way that ChimeraKnight does for Navigator...
Safari was a fun little experiment, but I have no reason to run it when Chimera's better. If Safari's faster on a T1, I can't tell, all I know is I have my tabs back...
I'll take another look in June I guess...

That does indeed break some clause of the NDA that guy probably signed...Since I signed one as well I can't even tell you if Safari 1.0 v52 is available.
Now...when you are installing Safari, a window pops up asking if you agree to the terms and conditions...it says there that Safari will indeed expire. Just so you know.
Hmmm...I synced my iBook's date and time with one of apple's time servers and the date I had was December 31, 1969...
(when you look at the pic, also note that one of my buddies has been idle for almost -290000 hours)
