I recently bought an iMac G3 500mhz, upgraded to an 80gb drive, and installed 10.4. I deselected the "Put hard drive to sleep when possible" option in the Energy Saver preference panel, yet the hard drive still spools down after about 10 mins. This option doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever, and I prefer to keep the hard drive spinning because the quiet whine helps me to sleep at night. Does any other iMac G3 owner out there have the same problem? Any suggestions?
