In addition to our loss of Don Knotts today, Darren Mcgavin has also apparently passed a the age of 83.

The news is posted on his official website (http://www.darrenmcgavin.net/), though as of 9:45 EST no major news outlets are reporting this.

Sad to see more and more people that I grew up with (watching them on TV, anyway) passing to the Great Beyond...

Jeez, yesterday, a long time trombone player for The American Band (http://www.ric.edu/am_band/) died of a massive heart attack yesterday. :(

Darren McGavin will always be the one and only Carl Kolchak. That was one of those times when the actor fit the role like a glove.

Sci-Fi just ran some episodes a week or two ago, but I hope they run them again in honor of this great actor.

Darren McGavin will always be the one and only Carl Kolchak. That was one of those times when the actor fit the role like a glove.And of course he was Ralphie's dad in A Christmas Story... "'Frah-gee-lay'... must be Italian." Classic.

I totally read that as Gavin DeGraw and sat there in shock for a minute until I saw the age 83. Wow... long day.
