I am trying to install OS X Tiger on a 600MHz G3 iMac (Grey). I have the cd version and when I get to the end of the install, it says optimizing, and it never finishes.

I changed the HD to a 200GB Seagate 7200RPM unit and formatted it to 128GB (max supported) and did the install.

Help please..thx!

Did you install the latest firmware (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86117)?

nope, download (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75130). and you need to boot from an OS9 disk to run it.. :(
