Hello,

I have just bought a Canon EOS300D from a friend who had never really used it.
I'm totally new to all this photography stuff and I was wondering if anyone could help me out by pointing me in the direction of some simple tutorials on how to get the best out of it.

Cheers.

Welcome to the wonderful world of digital SLR! This was my first DSLR camera as well. This is a great web site for information:

http://www.photo.net/

You really should get a book, though, for an overall basic understanding of exposure and composition. Photography by Barbara London and John Upton seems to be the "bible" of sorts that everyone has in their library.

Photography Book

After you read that book, and some tutorials and articles on the photo site, you'll have a lot of knowledge to go out and play. You might then consider another lens or 2, depending on your needs, although the one that comes with it is great for general use.

Oh also, this site has great forums specifically for digital SLRs: http://www.dpreview.com/
