Having had this PowerMac for about 5 months, i've just decided i have to find out what the red light is all about that comes on when you shut it down and turn it on.

is it some kinda sensor to make sure nothing is going to get into the fans?

or is it just to make it look like its from the future? :D

It's one of the diagnostic LEDs (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302527) and is designed to give technicians (and yourself) some feedback as to how well the Power Mac is working. :)
