Long story short I've recently moved onto a farm in the middle of nowhere.

My closest neighbor is, bare minimum, 300 yards away. How in the world am I picking up 3 to 4 bars of reception from their Linksys WRT54G?

I thought that 802.11x range limit was in the 200-250 ft. area?

my iBook G3 has the most amazing wifi reception of any laptop I have every owned. I don't know that it is that good, but hey, why complain? Great wifi reception is never a bad problem to have.:D

Is there some not-too-costly means of boosting reception on/for my iBook G4 (ver. 10.3.9)? Sometimes my home signal comes in loud and strong at 4 bars, others it's a whisper of one bar. As you can see here --
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=184626 -- I'd rather be outdoors than in when I'm at home.

Any ideas, O ye demigods, demigoddesses, and regulars? Thank you, as always. ;)

The iBook is about 2 feet from a window and 10 feet from a sliding glass door that has a direct line of sight with my neighbors. But it is still gotta be passing through their walls, no?

Yes, but but it depends on where their router is located in the house. It could be near a window as well - this would definitely increase your reception.
