So a guy in one of my classes brought this to class the other day.

Apparently it's the smallest mp3 player in the world. It's 24mm cubed with a display. How come Apple can't put a display on the shuffle?

He also said it was 1 GB and playback time is 20 hours
I just found somewhere else also, that it is being made with 2GB of storage

Edit: if this is in the wrong section, please move it to where appropriate. I didn't really know where it should go

he's right about the playback and storage. i think it is the smallest in the world. its pretty cool. i guess apple didn't feel like having to boost the price of the shuffle just for a screen

I saw one of those (in england) in a dixons store it was reduced from £75 to like £24.99 didnt realise it had a screen... i guess the offputting thing is its a cube.. kinda looks awkward and would b uncomfy in ur pocket..
as 4 the shuffle screen i think the polint of the shuffle is really to.......shuffle kind of an element of suprise, and also its a combination of clever marketing (it would drop sales of more expensive ipods such as mini ipod due to it being so much smaller and lighter and cheaper and also nano sales) + they would of had to put up the price of the shuffle if it had a screen... although if it wasnt made by apple it would prob b cheaper even with a screen but you pay for the design and it looks cool so...enough ranting lol :p

I saw that in popular science. Its really cool and I believe them about the battery life, with the OLED display and its distinct lack of backlights.

Using OLED = cool, but just being smaller in volume isn't everything. It has to be smaller in the right areas. They traded height for depth, when depth should be the smallest.
