I was just checking EDU prices on the new PowerMacs and happened to go the link for Apple Store for my local school I chose. The actual page is the same as Apples but the prices are lower.
PMG4
My EDU
$1,299 $1,799 $2,399 $3,389
Apple educational store
$1,449 $1,899 $2,549 $3,594
Normal prices
$1,499 $1,999 $2,699 $3,799
These discounts work the same everywhere in the store. Displays are cheaper. Graphics cards, anything that is discounted at the Apple education store has deeper discounts at the Apple Store page for my local school.

What school are you at so I can corfirm the prices?
Anyway, make sure you're in the individual educational prices, not the institutional educational prices.
My U of M prices (which I know is lower than the rest of the edu prices) are: $1390, $1822, $2447, $3450 for the powerMacs

it looks like the edu store for your school is still offering the single 867 powermac (or they have not updated since the release of the new machines). i noticed that in the new lineup, this was removed, moving the bottom end edu system up $150.

Hey what do you know. They change the entry screen for the edu pricing. So I've been clicking on the location of where the individual pricing use to be but now it's the institution pricing.
Damn it all to hell. I thought they were offering some really great prices. Oh well guess you can still get a new Dual/1.25/DDR for $500 less then I paid for my Dual/GHz/DDR.

Check the new PB discounts, $300 off is a pretty hefty discount I'd say! <========== Guess what! I made the same booboo! is it wishful thinking taking a hold of reality? you be the judge!
[2nd edit] hold on, so the individual edu user link used to be the one on the right before correct? cause I could swear that I used to click that every time I checked the edu prices. They moved it right? it is their fault not ours! [/2nd edit]

That's true but for those of us that buy machines every couple years it's the kind of thing you may want to wait until you make a really big purchase since it's a once in a life time offer.
