The title says it all. I don't remember much hub-bub when it was dropped. I know it is no longer offered. Maybe I just missed the anouncement, but then again I worked about 80 hours a week during February and missed a lot of things.

Just wondering...

Still there.

They now look like the G5/Intel iMac, but without a camera, DVD-ROM and a few other things. Maybe why your not seeing them.

I just checked the education store and couldn't find it. I am not looking to buy one, just interested.

I like how it's "discounted" from the retail price when the institutional education store is the only place it's available. :D

I wonder will they get intel chips.
Yeah, if they do we're going to stop buying Mini's + 17" Dell LCD's. I did a cost analysis with a coworker and we saved around $100 buying a eMac.

Q: When did they discontinue the eMac?
A: About 4 years too late!

Haha, j/k, I know there are some people that like them. I just got done ripping them on the "Favorite/Least favorite Macs thread.

who wants an emac anyways may as well get a mini.
The eMac supports Core Image, comes with a keybaord/mouse/display, and a full-sized hard drive with more storage (in the SD version) than a Mini can possibly have at the moment. If you need PPC-only software, the eMac is a very nice machine.
